Our dogs are located throughout the state of Ohio and parts of IN, MI, PA and KY.

Margie is a spayed female who is thought to be about 6 years old. She was picked up as a stray by the local dog shelter who contacted Ohio Basset Hound Rescue to take her. She is up to date on all vaccines, heartworm and flea prevention. Margie has a few lumps and bumps on her that the vet told us are benign fatty tumors and should not cause her any problems. Two of the larger ones have been removed and she is doing just great now.  Margie is just a delight to have in our home. She is potty trained and will bark to let us know if she wants to go in or out.  She is quite smart and knows how to open the door on her crate when she wants in (she gets a treat when she is crated). She is also quite the counter cruiser and has managed to steal a couple of sandwiches off of the kitchen table. Margie weighs about 53 lbs and has a medium to low activity level. She walks well on a leash and loves to go for walks. She does get along fine with other dogs but will try to be the boss and can be agressive over food and bones. She will do much better with a less active, submissive dog. We have no cats so we do not know how she would do with them. Margie is a little timid at first but warms up quickly to people. Margie would like to have a fenced in yard with another dog as a companion or would do fine as an only dog for someone who will take her for at least a couple of walks every day to keep her weight at a good level.
